Christine is well known to us as writer, painter, photographer and local naturalist. Her talk A River in Time is the title of her book published in 2013. The river in question is the River Bradford which flows through open meadows and deep limestone dales. It has been modified by man since the Middle Ages and is now a popular walk for visitors to the area. Christine takes us on a photographic journey along the river looking at its flora and fauna as well as its social and industrial history.
Though only 4 miles long, the River Bradford has shaped the communities who have lived beside it, and likewise been shaped by them. The talk is illustrated by Christine’s photos and explores the river, its wildlife, geology, ecology, history and ongoing plans to protect it and the life it supports.
