Have you ever wondered what happened to all the lapwings you used to see nesting in the fields? Or the song thrushes singing in the lanes?
Some birds have decreased dramatically, like the puffin, whilst others like the siskin are now common at our garden feeders and the buzzard has spread from its strongholds in the far west to cover the whole country.
Some mammals, insects and reptiles have also thrived whilst others have declined and Chris Ward will attempt to explain why in his talk on Our Changing Wildlife to the group. He will ask what future changes we can expect and explain what is being done to help our wildlife most in trouble.
This is a joint meeting with our friends at Derbyshire Ornithological Society who are most welcome free of charge.
