Our next meeting on March 12th will be given by Bakewell Bird Study Group’s own Brian Shaw who will describe how he came to buy a ready made 5 acre nature reserve of ponds and reed beds in Lincolnshire and what he has been trying to achieve there in the past two years – with mixed success. Projects have included the creation of a shingle island for terns, a bank for sand martins and a new pond for amphibians. Some surprising birds have turned up and some less welcome visitors. This should be one of the more light hearted talks this year but hopefully no less entertaining. It will be slightly shorter than normal as the AGM will be held afterwards. Visitors are welcome to stay for the AGM or leave after the coffee break if they wish.
Followed by Annual General Meeting
