Our January field trip on 25th is to Potteric Carr near Doncaster where bitterns, water rails and marsh harriers are frequent and there is even a chance of hearing the characteristic booming of the bittern. All three woodpeckers were seen here in January 2019, along with large murmurations of starlings.
